Stock and records
See what the records say is on the yard.
See what came in, what went out and what should be left. The figures come from your recorded loads, counts and adjustments. A metal that has not been counted says so.
Stock and sales is optional. The owner switches it on in Settings when the yard needs it.
£200 a month, per site. £300 one-off setup per site.
A count gives the figures a starting point.
On the yard shows each metal separately. Choose Count it, enter the weight you have counted and save. ScrapLog uses that count as the starting point for later movements.

- Later incoming loads, completed outgoing loads, recorded stripping and corrections change the calculated figure.
- Not counted yet
- Without a count, the app shows recorded movements. It cannot establish what was there before. An uncounted figure does not mean zero.
Incoming loads that have reached the office already count while they are open, unless crossed out. Stock does not wait for Complete or a payment.
Record metal leaving the yard
Open What went out. Choose the merchant, enter the lorry's number plate and add the metals and their weights. Complete the outgoing load when its details are ready. That takes the recorded weight off stock. Record stripping too, so metal that changes grade is counted under its new name.
Choose who records payments.
If you keep payment records in ScrapLog, the owner can keep that action or give the office permission. New yards start with payment recording reserved for the owner.
The yard pays outside ScrapLog. This setting decides who can record the payment in the app.
Other office permissions
Set price editing, crossing out loads, releasing held payments and managing gate PINs separately. The office can set prices by default; the other three permissions start off.
See who changed a load.
Open Changes to see who changed what and when. The page is for the owner.
A load entered in error can be crossed out by an authorised person. Its original record remains, with who crossed it out and why. Any payment already recorded stays recorded.
What stays fixed on a completed load
Its metals, weights and prices are locked. The change history is a record of events; it has no undo control.
Choose the tools your yard uses.
Stock and sales, bins and the other yard tools start hidden. The owner switches them on in Settings when the yard needs them.
Switching a tool off hides it from the menu; its records stay. Staff permissions are a separate choice.
