Enter the load at the gate.
Use ScrapLog on a phone or tablet. Choose the customer, enter the weight from your scale or weighbridge and pick the metal. Send the load to the office to check and complete.

Who handles ID?
Choose whether the gate or office deals with ID, and whether copies are kept in ScrapLog or in another app. If the gate takes ID photos in ScrapLog, the office checks the photos and confirms the document details.
The yard can also choose whether ScrapLog asks for an ID-check tick on each load. Naming another app does not connect the two systems. Your yard remains responsible for its ID checks and records.

Enter the weight in the unit shown on the screen. For a weighbridge load, enter the first and second readings; ScrapLog works out the metal's weight. You can switch between the small scale and weighbridge on the same load.
The owner chooses whether prices show at the gate. Staff with permission set them in the office.
Tub weights and deductions
Weigh the tub empty and with the metal, then enter both readings. If you deduct weight for contamination, enter the kilos or percentage and choose a reason. ScrapLog keeps the original readings and shows the deduction on the weigh slip.
Send it to the office.
Press Send to the office. Once the load arrives, the office can open its customer, metals and weights without entering them again.
If your yard uses weigh slips, give the customer the load's code to take to the office. Print the code and weights, or write the code on paper. The weigh slip is not a payment receipt.
Printing is optional and needs a working printer and device setup.
A saved load can wait for signal.
Open the gate online before using it without signal. Photos need a connection.
If signal drops, saved loads and new customers wait on the gate device and send when it reconnects. The office needs a connection to work on them.
A load saved without signal is timed when it reaches ScrapLog, not when it was weighed.
Check that the screen confirms the load was saved. If the device cannot keep it, ScrapLog says so.
