Where ScrapLog came from
Twelve years in the trade. The software has been in build since July 2026 and the company was registered in August 2026, so it is new — but it was not written by somebody guessing at how a yard works.
Your book is yours whatever happens to us. Nothing in ScrapLog is ever deleted, both statutory registers print for any period you choose, and the contract is monthly with 30 days’ notice. You are never locked in, and you never have to leave your records behind.

- Defra
- Built on Defra’s Receipt of Waste API. Production approval tests passed — their words, 2 September 2026: “you passed all PAT approval tests.” We are on the GOV.UK list of software providers.
- Data protection
- Registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, ZC240149. That is a public entry — open it and you get our name, this address and the trading name ScrapLog. The privacy notice is real and dated.

Who built ScrapLog
Somebody with twelve years in the trade. Not a software company that decided waste looked like a good market — somebody who works in a yard, and knows why the tub argument matters.
We are not going to put a founder’s story and a photograph on here. You are buying software for your yard, not a biography. What matters is that when you ring or message, you get somebody who knows the job rather than a call centre reading a script.
What we do not have
No case studies, no testimonials, no logos of other yards, and no “trusted by” strip. Not because we are being coy — because they would have to be made up, and you would spot it. You know what a real yard looks like better than we do.
When we have customers who are happy to be named, they will appear here with their names on. Not before.
How the software keeps changing
It changes constantly, because yards keep telling us things. You can see what changed and when on the changes page — dated, in plain words.
Tell us what you need. We build for yards, and what yards ask for is what gets built next — the waste side included. If the rules move at your end, or your yard needs it recording differently, say so. What we will not do is promise you that a particular thing ships, or when. Promising everybody their feature ends up disappointing all of them.
